Older than the dinosaurs

Sharks were already crossing the oceans more than 400 million years ago, long before the first dinosaurs, and their shape has barely needed to change since. They do not even have bones: the skeleton is cartilage. Our shark sculptures keep that economy of line: a long, streamlined body, a tall dorsal fin, pectoral fins swept back and a crescent tail, all held in a single moment of the glide.

The Silver Shark Statue and the smaller Silver Shark Figurine stand free, without a base, in mirror-polished silver, so the body seems to float wherever it is set down. The Black Shark Statue is the same slender model in a matte grey-black finish. Without reflections only the outline remains, which makes it the most graphic piece of the group and a strong accent among our matte black sculptures.

Two species, two characters

The Great White Shark Figurine is the most expressive piece in the collection. Seen almost head-on, it is a rounder figure with an open jaw line, a round eye and deep gill slits. The great white is the largest predatory fish in the sea, and Mexico knows it well: Isla Guadalupe, off Baja California, is famous among divers worldwide for its encounters with the species. A great white shark figurine is a natural gift for anyone who has made that trip.

The Silver Hammerhead Shark Figurine needs no label. Its wide, flat head sets the eyes and senses far apart, letting the animal take in a broad stretch of water at once. On a desk or a bookshelf, this hammerhead shark figurine is the silhouette guests recognise from across the room.

Sharks around the reef

The group pieces stage several sharks around a dark green rock that reads like a reef outcrop. In the Silver Sharks Statue Swimming, one shark climbs steeply while the others circle below; in the Swarm of Silver Sharks Statue, one glides above another in a calmer, layered composition. The Adult & Young Shark Statue pairs a large shark with a small one over dark stone. Some bodies are mirror-bright and others a softer satin silver, so the sharks read as layers of water and light.

A shark statue settles naturally into a study, onto an office desk or into a beach or coastal home, and it is a classic gift for divers, sailors and anyone drawn to the ocean. Our whale, dolphin and stingray statues share the same sea, within the wider aquatic animal collection.

Frequently asked questions

Which shark statue suits an office desk?

The free-standing pieces: the Silver Shark Figurine, the Silver Hammerhead Shark Figurine or the Great White Shark Figurine. The group pieces on green rock carry more presence and show best on a console or a shelf, where they can be seen from every side.

Is the Black Shark Statue the same model as the silver one?

It shares the slender shape of the Silver Shark Statue, finished in matte grey-black instead of polished silver. Silver plays with light; black turns the shark into pure silhouette, which suits pale walls, stone and minimal interiors.

How do I care for a silver shark sculpture?

Every piece is protected by a resistant lacquer, so a soft, dry cloth is enough to keep it bright; metal polish and cleaning agents are best avoided. Each shark is designed and finished by hand in Mexico City and carries our lifetime guarantee covering manufacturing defects.
