Columns turned into planters

The Corinthian order, the most ornate of the classical Greek orders, is recognised by its capital of acanthus leaves. The Silver Flower Pot Corinthian Column takes that capital as its whole form: a flaring bowl wrapped in deep acanthus, bright on the leaves and darker in the recesses, so the relief stands out from across the room.

The Silver Flower Pot Ionic Column Top borrows from the Ionic order instead, recognised by its paired scrolls. Its bowl is crowned by those rolled volutes, with a central leaf motif between them. Side by side, the two silver flower pots read like fragments of a temple brought indoors, each carrying a different chapter of classical design.

The language of antique silver

The hexagonal and vintage planters come from the tradition of antique silverware. The Silver Flower Pot - Reliefs Hexagonal is low and straight-walled, with six panels, each carrying a symmetrical relief. Its low profile suits a broad, spreading plant on a coffee table or a desk, where the panels can be seen from every side.

The Silver Flower Pot Vintage Raised is lifted high on four scrolled feet, its square body covered in scrolling relief. Raised off the surface, it makes a fine orchid pot, giving a single stem an air of ceremony on a dining table or on a console by the entrance.

A cachepot, not just a pot

A silver planter is often used as a cachepot: the plant stays in its own nursery pot, which sits inside. It makes changing the plant with the seasons simple, from an orchid to a fern or a pot of herbs, without disturbing the piece itself.

As decorative planters, these belong to the same family as our Flower vases and Table centerpieces, and they look natural beside other silver pieces on a sideboard. For plants that need room on the floor, our Floor décor page gathers pieces made for ground level.

Frequently asked questions

Do the flower pots come with a plant?

No. The orchids in the photographs are there for styling only. Each planter is offered on its own and works as a cachepot, holding a plant in its own nursery pot, so the plant can be changed whenever the season or the room asks for it.

Which planter suits an orchid?

The Vintage Raised planter lifts a single orchid like a pedestal, and the Corinthian and Ionic pots frame one between their leaves and scrolls. An art advisor can show you any of them on a video call to judge the proportions against the plant you have in mind.

How are luxury planters in silver cared for?

A resistant lacquer protects the finish, so a soft, dry cloth is all it needs; metal polish and cleaning agents are best avoided. Every piece is designed and finished by hand in Mexico City, carries our lifetime guarantee covering manufacturing defects and ships throughout Mexico.
