Pink Sculptures
Deep raspberry pink, a high-gloss surface and the silhouette of a small visitor from space: the UFO Pink Vase brings a single strong accent of colour to a shelf, a desk or a side table.
A visitor in raspberry pink
The UFO Pink Vase is a compact, rounded hooded form with a large oval opening on the front, two short stubby arms at the sides and a flared, skirt-like base. Together they give it the look of a small, friendly visitor from another planet, and the name follows. Seen from the side, the arms and the base give it a slight sense of movement, as if it had just landed.
It is one colour throughout, a deep raspberry pink with a smooth, high-gloss surface and no decoration at all. The oval opening reads as a deep, shadowed hollow, almost a face, and the gloss picks up every lamp in the room. With flowers or without them, it behaves like a small sculpture.
Pink, a Mexican colour
Pink is closely tied to Mexican design. Rosa mexicano, the vivid pink celebrated by architects such as Luis Barragán, is one of the colours most often associated with the country. The UFO vase carries that tradition into a playful, graphic form rather than a classical one, closer to a toy or a cartoon than to a museum vitrine.
A single strong colour piece is the simplest way to bring one accent into a neutral room, or to echo a pink already present in a cushion, a rug or a painting. On white shelves it reads as a full stop; among other pink home decor it becomes part of a palette.
One design, several colours
The vase was designed by Attanasio Mazzone for D'Argenta and is finished by hand in Mexico. The same model appears in yellow, purple, orange, blue and white, each on its own colour page, so a group can be built in a single shade or across several.
Among our Colorful sculptures it is one of the most graphic pieces, and it sits just as naturally among our Flower vases. As a modern vase with a designer behind it, it also makes a light-hearted gift for someone who already lives with colour.
Frequently asked questions
Can the UFO vase hold flowers?
It is made to work with or without flowers. On its own it reads as a small sculpture; with a few stems in the opening it adds a second note of colour. An art advisor can show it to you on a video call.
Does the UFO vase come in other colours?
Yes. Besides this hot pink vase, the same model is offered in yellow, purple, orange, blue and white, each shown on its own colour page. Several colours side by side make a bright, playful group.
Where does pink decor work best?
In a neutral room, where one strong colour gives the eye a place to rest, or beside textiles and art that already carry pink. Its compact form suits a shelf, a desk or a side table, and as a designer vase it holds its own beside books and objects.
