Jewelry Boxes

Lidded boxes wrapped in dense relief, bright silver on the raised scrolls and leaves and darker in the recesses: jewellery boxes for a dresser or a vanity, with one Imperial model also finished in 24-karat gold.

Pieces from $4,920 to $28,740 MXN

A tradition of ornate caskets

For centuries ornate lidded caskets have kept the things people did not want to lose: jewellery, letters and small keepsakes. A jewelry box on a dresser or a vanity still does both jobs at once. It holds rings and earrings, and it is an object worth looking at in its own right, the first thing the eye finds in the morning.

Every box in this collection is covered in relief. The raised parts are bright silver and the recesses darker, so the pattern reads clearly from across the room and rewards a closer look. The Large Square Jewelry Box swells outward on scrolled feet, with scrolling foliage on every face and a round knob on the lid.

Imperial, hexagonal, round

The Large Oval Imperial Silver Jewelry Box is boat-shaped, low and wide, with pointed ends, lace-like scrollwork and a tall spired finial that gives it a ceremonial air on a dressing table. The Large Oval Imperial Gold Jewelry Box is the same model in 24-karat gold, warm and bright, the gold jewelry box of the collection.

The Silver Jewelry Box Hexagon Classical stands upright on six sides, a stylised floral motif on each panel, with a stepped lid and a ball knob. The Silver Jewelry Box Leaf Design is round and drum-shaped, wrapped in vine leaves and grape clusters under a domed lid. A squat round box with bold scrolls and beading completes the classical family.

Square, rounded and rectangular

The Large Rounded Square Jewelry Box is low and cushion-like, with deep scrolls, and its lid lifts off to a dark lined interior. A square box with small side handles has a lift-off lid set with four rosettes, and a large rectangular box sits on bracket feet with a scrolling band and a knob on top. Each is an ornate jewelry box, but each has its own silhouette on a shelf.

A jewelry box is one of the classic gifts for a wedding, an anniversary or a birthday, and in Mexico for a quinceañera. As a keepsake box it outlives the occasion. Our Gifts for her, Wedding gifts and Photo frames pages gather more pieces for the same moments.

Frequently asked questions

How is a silver jewelry box cared for?

A resistant lacquer protects the finish, so a soft, dry cloth is all it needs, even in the deep recesses of the relief; metal polish and cleaning agents are best avoided. Each box carries our lifetime guarantee covering manufacturing defects.

Is a luxury jewelry box a good gift for her?

It is one of the most personal: useful every day and decorative at the same time. The Leaf Design box, with its vines and grapes, has a softer, garden-like feel, while the Imperial boxes, with their spired finials, are the most formal of the collection.

Can I see a jewellery box before ordering?

Yes. An art advisor can show you any box on a video call, opening the lid and turning it to the light. Every piece is designed and finished by hand in Mexico City, as D'Argenta has done since 1976, and we ship throughout Mexico.
