Guardian lions and the spotted cats

Guardian lions have flanked doorways and gates in many cultures, and ours keep the pose. The Silver Guardian Lion Statue and the Gold Guardian Lion Statue sit upright, their manes thick and deeply carved, one in mirror silver and one in warm gold. They work as a pair at an entrance, or alone as the one lion statue a room needs.

The spotted cats are covered in finely engraved rosettes. One leopard sits upright; others lie stretched along a dark, gnarled branch with a paw hanging down, as does the Silver Jaguar Statue on Branch. The jaguar was a symbol of power in Mesoamerica, and here it rests with the same ease as the leopards beside it, a Mexican presence among the big cats.

Wings, water and a Dalí

The Silver Eagle Statue - Taking Flight opens long feathered wings above a dark rock, its talons in gold, while a bald eagle swoops down over a dark green, wave-like base. The humpback whale migrates to Mexican Pacific waters, Baja California and Banderas Bay among them, to give birth; the Silver Humpback Mother & Calf Whale Statue shows the pair rising together from a dark green rock.

The Masochistic Instrument Sculpture from Salvador Dali paintings, made under a licence approved by the Fundació Gala-Salvador Dalí, sets a slender silver female figure inside a tall dark frame beside a soft, drooping gold form. It is the most surreal of these luxury statues and the natural way into our Salvador Dalí page.

Horses, games and the table

Horses carry much of the rest. One walks with a foreleg lifted high over a dark rock base, a line of wild horses gallops over a black base, and the horse head by Pedro Ramírez Vázquez is all angular, polished planes and a sharp mane. A Thai deer in gold rests with folded legs under an ornate silver saddle cloth, crowned by tall antlers.

A chess set puts a silver army and a gold army on a clear glass board over a dark stone block, and a harlequin mask joins silver and gold under a green leaf crest with jester points. Together these silver statues and gold statues show the reach of the workshop, from realistic animals to surrealism and play. Our Lion statues page gathers the whole pride.

Frequently asked questions

How do the silver and gold finishes differ?

Mirror silver is cool and bright and reflects the room around it; 24-karat gold is warm and deepens in evening light. The Guardian Lion comes in both, so an art advisor can show you the two side by side on a video call.

Are the Dalí and Pedro Ramírez Vázquez pieces authorised?

Yes. The Dalí sculpture is made under a licence approved by the Fundació Gala-Salvador Dalí, and the horse head by Pedro Ramírez Vázquez was created with the architect during his lifetime.

How do I care for these decorative sculptures?

A resistant lacquer protects the finish, so a soft, dry cloth is all it needs; metal polish and cleaning agents are best avoided. Every piece carries our lifetime guarantee covering manufacturing defects, and we ship throughout Mexico from Mexico City.
