Two figures, one form

The couple sculptures in this collection are abstract. Two elongated figures, drawn as flowing ribbons of metal, lean in, wrap around each other and merge into a single form, most of them on round black bases. In Integration - Groom & Bride Statue and the Wedding Rings Couple Statue, one figure is finished in 24-karat gold and the other in silver, so the two finishes are literally intertwined: a quiet image of two lives joined without either one disappearing.

Flame - Couple in Love Sculpture is finished entirely in 24-karat gold, a couple rising like a flame from a square black base. Passion - Silver Couple Statue is a slender silver embrace on dark rock, and another piece interlaces glossy black ribbons with polished silver. A silver couple statue marks the union itself.

Pairs from the natural world, and Frida

Some couples prefer a gentler metaphor. The Silver Heron Couple Statue shows two herons facing each other, necks curved, over dark green foliage, while the hippopotamus pair rests two mirror-bright heads side by side, with humour as well as tenderness.

Viva La Vida Painting Sculpture is a watermelon slice in copper, inscribed “Viva la Vida, Coyoacán 1954, México”, with a small silver owl perched on the rind. Viva la Vida is the title Frida Kahlo inscribed on her last painting, a still life of watermelons, in 1954, and D'Argenta's Frida Kahlo pieces are made working with her family. Among gifts for newlyweds, few carry a better wish: long live life.

For the home they will share

A piece for the couple's home is used every day. Leaf fruit bowls and centrepieces in silver and 24-karat gold reproduce Monstera Deliciosa, Elephant Ear, Fatsia Japonica and Agave leaves at life size, every vein in place. The Corinthian and Ionic centrepieces set a glass bowl on a silver column capital, acanthus leaves on one, scroll volutes on the other. The Silver Jewelry Box Hexagon Classical is covered in dense floral relief and crowned by a domed lid and finial.

For the wedding photograph, the Silver Photo Frame Tulips has gold tulips and green leaves climbing its side, and another frame carries calla lilies, a flower closely tied to Mexican art. These are luxury wedding gifts in the most literal sense: objects that will be handled, opened and looked at for decades. Our fruit bowls and table décor, jewelry boxes, photo frames and flower pots hold the full range.

Frequently asked questions

Is a silver piece right for an anniversary too?

Yes. In Mexico and many other traditions the 25th wedding anniversary is the silver anniversary and the 50th the golden one, so a piece finished in silver or in 24-karat gold marks those dates as naturally as the wedding itself.

A couple sculpture or something for the home?

A sculpture marks the union and is kept as a memento of the day; a centrepiece, a jewelry box or a frame becomes part of daily life in the new home. The closer you are to the couple, the more personal the piece can be.

Can I see a piece before giving it?

Yes. An art advisor can show you any piece on a video call and help you decide between silver and 24-karat gold. Every piece is protected by a resistant lacquer that needs only a soft, dry cloth, and carries our lifetime guarantee covering manufacturing defects. We ship throughout Mexico from our Mexico City workshop.
